limited white label of bootleg remixes from jacques greene whos fresh off remixing radiohead at the personal request of thom yorke. blink and youll miss it
it seems like hawkinson has drawn his inspiration from the lush crackling whispering of the woods. akiko seems to see it the same way and with her remix makes a compelling overall package of the second 12 inch by phunkit. >unterholz< is a crisp driving, deep techno roller with playful percussion elements, subtle functionally-held choral dubs and a bass line drily humming to itself. >stillleben< crackles bone-dry and elegantly at the same time, the light melodic phrases form a great contrast to the massive wall of bass. akiko is tinkering a little organic dust monster out of >stillleben<. definitely superb how she is breathing her principle of life into the whole theme, so that you almost wish the track would never end.
the advanced human - >air< ep is the latest deep offering from gynoid audio. rich with dub chords, atmosphere and reflection it is truly a celebration of living.....and breathing. the original offers up rolling dub keys surrounded by intricate percussion and a drive aimed at the dance floor. the ground loop remix finds itself rich with space and atmosphere while still lending from the dub influence of the original. markus suckut brings to the table a hypnotic dub influenced version to die for, all pushed a long nicely by a fat, low slung bassline and held in tension by the comings and goings of timely atmospherics. the raiz boys, as expected, move things back in a peak time direction by stepping up the rolling dub chords and putting the funk in the percussion. air. breathe. enjoy.
supported by: james ruskin, par grindvik, pfirter, ben sims, dustin zahn, nihad tule (drumcode), donor, audio injection, pacou, patrick lindsey, 88uw, mattias fridell and various others.
david moleon presents a very special release on his own moop up label. mr. moleon invites his friends iago de la vega, boriqua tribez, dj lukas and audiowarp for this doublepack album. the techno style is full of frantic paces, grooves incredible and deep melodies. david moleon is undoubtedly the producer mas prolifically and versatile of the south of spain. watch out for this!
dompteur mooner, finder and keeper of the obscure was responsible for several series of well picked compilations such as kranke musique ist schön, elaste (on compost records) and dottores kranky disco band. with his imprint super tahoe, this is the second edit ep with rusty rock hits, pumped up kosmische and proto techno called greatest hits. enjoy this limited edition of 500 while its there - coming in a nice 4c sleeve as always!
the intermezzo ep kicks off with we are here, which could be easily described as get out part 2. a spoken word vocal over kerris trademark beats and instrumentation, musing on the subject of a busy schedule and calways available technology. so it begins again takes things down a much more tribal road, perfect for a big room, and the dc10 mix is a nod towards the direction kerri had in mind and the dancefloors he created this track for. the dark mix takes this idea even further with a more progressive feel as the track plays out. red lights explores a more live drum feel with a cut-up breakbeat playing a 4/4 rhythm, and a throbbing bassline and synth pattern. this one is a little deeper but still packs plenty of punch!
support by delano smith, halo vargas, wagon cooking, pablo bolivar, ernie (minuendo recordings), replika, darran nugen (moodmusic), paskal (peppermint jam),simon garcía, vasco ispirian, boris hotton, jagged, henry l and many more.
here we go again! deeper from duesseldorf. matt flores give the german touch for troubled kids. welcome to the other side of deep. let the groove control your body and enjoy it! for this new ep, matt gives us his fresh hypnotic deep house groove style. with two awesome remixes by henry l, showing his elegant way of producing and jagged who gives all disco stuff for dance all night long. a great way to make your summer cooler! refresh your ears!
straight out the fucking dungeons of barnhusgatan, we are proud to present axel bomans debut ep for his home label, studio barnhus, co-run by kornél kovács, petter nordkvist and axel himself. europa, as it is called, is his first solo release since last year s holy love ep on pampa records. four beautiful house jams equally fit for the dance floor and your walkman infused with unexptected samples and crafted out of a versatile sonic palette. axel is proving to be one of the freshest producers around with his unique approach to house music that he shares with his studio barnhus label mates and producers such as dj koze and pepe bradock. according to prins thomas these tracks will make every pretty girl dance!
following the radio and chart smash >bounce< feat. kelis, calvin harris releases his storming new single >feel so close<. whilst >bounce< featured vocals from superstar kelis, >feel so close< features vocals by calvin himself. the single is indie meets dance and whilst having the usual catchy hit factor of a calvin harris single, it has an anthemic euphoria in its feel good chorus and echoing guitars and drums. already premiered on pete tongs radio1 show last week, it is most definitely set to make crowds ecstatic from the dancefloors of ibiza to the festival crowds of creamfields and big chill and is sure to be one of the anthems of the summer.
blue skies and late nights, camp fires and cheap delights and whisky drained straight from the jar. in a hammock slung below a sky of dreams and sea of stars lay a pop princess and a hip hop pioneer, arms entwined and eyes locked into each others stare they whisper sweet – nothings to each other, >you re flash< he says >take it slow< she purrs back >and dont even dont think about going down under!< a mile or two out to sea, floats what has come to be known as a mega-yacht. aboard his life like an episode of mtv cribs but with more parties and less gold-encrusted pool tables. surrounded by beauties by the bevy and sipping on gin and juice, duff scans the horizon with his telescope (solid platinum, encrusted with diamonds, built in infa red) and spies young love or a new hope. smiling to himself he thinks >they look different, younger perhaps at least changed, if not for the better but changed at least which is surely a good thing<. he turns to the girls on the boat, one hand pointing to the shore and the other raising his drink to the sky he shouts >i helped create that<.
hand stamped and numbered - limited to 300 copies worldwide!
given the challenges of todays music market, its a fairly bold statement for an indie label to come out of the box with not one, but two vinyl only releases by an artist with no profile to speak of, but here black light smoke proves worthy of the faith being placed in him. sat001 switchback/black stripe is all old school drum machines, tape-hiss, heavy footed disco kicks, acid-a-plenty and funk-to-spare, but the tracks transcend the rawness of their roots to achieve a modern, club-ready edge with retro flair.
hand stamped and numbered - limited to 300 copies worldwide!
on sat002 lovework/decisions, black light smoke shows off his pop sensibilities with two sing-a-long summer anthems-in-the-making. lovework is a no-wave-inspired ditty littered with catchy analog synths, an ass-shakin bassline and reverbed claps juxtapozed with a haunting processed vocal from the producer himself that repeats, >you made a mess of my head. now i gotta put it all back together. theres nothing to say, over and over…< which is how this tune will be playing in your head after one listen. on the flip we get a taste of black light smoke in deep house mode with decisions, a lustrous and vibey joint that features a sweeter vocal by suavecito, a new guise of dj/producer and vocalist who is well known by another name. here more analog synths produce wickedly buoyant bass lines and swirling pads that combine with bubbly piano stabs and little vocal sample/edits for what sounds like it could have been a naked music release had the label been operating in 1990.
nice price deal !!! 2009. a over dimensional first release of dropsoup wherein the twilight shimmers thru the ordinaryand the absurd sounds common. with monotonous jazz tracks of just so nah and well glitched funkstep of typhique. ... made by machines, i believe ...
red007 sees pushing red taking a slightly different turn with more of a juke style release. (greek - known as dimitri) buckles down with a with what could be called as a fusion of juke, ghetto house & footwork to outstanding results. the sharp 808 kicks and bassline pulsate throughout the tune while a sharp vocal sample cuts through giving the tune that much more punch! flip over for the wonderful ikonika remix. ikonika has really taken this tune and given it her own feel and appeal. turning the stormer into more of a halftime/ house feel, its hard to put to words the outcome. its ferocious & melodic and all wrapped up with that signature ikonika feel! one you just have to hear!
GRAND PRIX / VICODIN - SKUDGE RMX (ORANGE MARBLED VINYL)
Coloured 12 Inch 25.08.11
limited coloured vinyl pressing. one of my big favourite instra tunes is vicodin (released with lets talk – a dark, foreboding dubstep classic) and it gets a makeover by skudge who are getting mentions everywhere right now. check this track, even the waveform looks f***in dark! skudge warp it into something between dubstep and house but with all the downer-rhythm that really makes this track. along with the remix theres more from boddika in grand prix. short and sweet little hypnotic bounce track with serious dancability.
heavy double pack on peter van hoesens time 2 express label with all star line up that includes donato dozzy, convextion mike parker and peter himself. a limited to 500 copies double pack that comes in a nice gatefold sleeve.. and the first in a series of special releases on time 2 express. oh and the music... dont expect anything less then some of the best techno around!

systematic welcomes the polish producer duo pol_on from warsaw who are comprised of kacper bogacz and michal piotrowski. after having released several cool 12 inches on freerange, mothership and get physical the first collabo with systematic recordings was a remix they have prepared for spirit catcher. the a side track >were lost< sounds like an energetic mutation of aphex twin after having played too much with powerful house grooves and >heavy rain< on the flip side sounds like a hybrid of old imagination e-piano samples paired with deep house chords in combination with slightly delayed but ass kickin soul grooves. pretty crazy and unpredctable but hey, systematic is kind of the same, isnt it?
neurotraxx deluxe, the label run by deep house buzz name aki bergen, releases a hot new track from uk super dj filthy rich. as a talented producer/dj filthy richs innovative sound has made him undeniably one of the countrys finest djs today. a promising figure looming out from the crowd, rich is the complete package. effortlessly leaving his contemporaries behind, he leaps and bounds into a league of his own laughing to himself as he does it. this is because rich knows the secret to getting this far – is playing music that he loves, for people to dance to. this new single is more on the deeper side of electronic music but still built to do damage on the dance floor. with mixes from dzeta & basile (who have had tracks & remixes on 1trax, lower east and loco records) and paolo mojo (noir music, cr2, greatstuff, oosh) this is a seriously hard hitting package. with support coming from all the usual a-list and international djs (full list of dj support being released soon) this, as we have come to expect from neurotraxx and filthy rich alike, is going to be an essential record for many djs.
krasimir gyurov (vizar) has dealt with electronic music since 2000. his style is influenced by nature with hypnotic deep pads and mystic drones. in 2004 he made a contact with underground a netlabel scene and several years later he released his first eps for spanish netlabels offaudio and antiritmo. from 2008 he played on the biggest underground techno festival in his country bulgaria - artmospheric festival, where the guests were donato dozzy, brando lupi, dave twomey. ness became interested in electronic music in the late 90s. in 2004 he started djing, taking inspiration from various genres going from trance to pure experimentation. the interest in music led him to attend various courses and audio engineer for some years and the conservatory of his hometown. the need to express his emotions through music led him to experiment and research in recent years that better reflect his sound.since 2009 he founded his own label mono records with his friend bettosun, and releases music in labels such as prologue, sonata and varianz. the experience gained over the years leads to define his dj sets that are characterized by a strong array of techno and house at the same time.
raf pisani and marco conte, aka audiomatiques, have long been involved in techno but its since they began working together as audiomatiques that everything began to click. together with roberto capuano, an artist who has already released for loose, claque musique, monique musique and suara, the duo have delivered 3 sterling tracks, which are backed by a remix from rino cerrone, for loose. cerrone takes full advantage of his position as label boss and places his remix of >so bad< in pole. its a walloping but low slung affair riddled with hypnotic rises and false drops which build incredible tension. in original form, >so bad< is a pounding affair. the focus is centred around an unholy bass heavy kick with just the minimum of percussive flourishes and vocal effects doing the rest with aplomb. >mind trip<, while equally as heavy, is fluid and slick. swinging tribal vibes and some clever effects work paired with an airtight arrangement makes for a surefire club burner. finally, the bizarre yet compelling leads of the aptly titled >crazy synth< close proceedings with a fever-dream fervour. original and memorable, this is a genuinely anthemic cut.
played and supported by chris liebing, luke slater, speedy j, tommy four seven, audio injection, drumcell, dvs1, norman nodge, technasia, shifted, bcr boys, samuel l session and more.
we meet a new project, cool, and damn techno. design concept and sounds that rather than being projected towards europe, appear to come from europe, more precisely from somewhere dark and cold in the north of the continent. but no! the minds that conceived the project are all italian and lie along a line connecting cities like palermo and naples, at least for the moment. because as you might expect from the country s brain drain ... the releases, starting with the first (which will appear in the catalog as 000), will be all vinyl.
rks allstars is the latest release from the roska family and is a choice collection of three tunes from three different producers all presented previously on the label
this ep contains 2 exclusive vinyl only tracks. nuremberg resident marvin zeyss describes his own style as a combination of uncommonly deep and techy. continuing the succes of the raw cuts ep by peter serkin, space breaks records label boss gwenhael louise snapped him for their 10th release !
tronic continues its roll out of summer bombs with the >origin / freed< two-tracker from dosem, an artist who has previously made a name for himself with sterling output for technasia sub-label sino. >origin< is the first of the two tracks and it opens proceedings with an epic, synth heavy vibe. filtered, impeccably programmed drums gently unfurl into a persistently padding groove that kicks on a big system. as the track opens up to drop, metallic synth chords shimmer out of the groove and deliver a massive punch. the intensity grows continually throughout and the melodies are pushed to their maximum, making this an unashamed anthem. the flipsides >freed<, while more heads down than its counterpart, is certainly no shrinking violet. driving drums are topped with long, building vocal screams and rising synths create a feverish atmosphere that, added to a pulsing and brutish bassline, goes off.
for our 34th edition on remote area we welcome back david labeij!
a producer since 2006, david has been credited as one of the most promising artists in amsterdams new school scene giving him access to labels such as 100% pure and intacto, as well as finding fame as half of polder, a collaborative effort with lauhaus.
with his signature solo sound verging on the hypnotic side of house and techno, david continues to captivate the international party goers with his distinct and futuristic take on dance music.
closely related to underground resistance, scan 7 is a mysterious detroit underground collective gathering seven artists. the group is most famous for its ninja like appearances, often dressed in black with black masks and hats, the use code names to protect there true identification, they believe its not who you see, but what you hear that is the most crucial element in techno! associated with such labels as underground resistance, soma & f communications, scan 7 via their own imprint have brought together a double cd of detroit influenced techno.
and ... this is the fourth sampler from their album >techno brings people together<.
fresh from the pleasures of introducing jon convex to the world, 3024 heads off on a pair of tangents for the next project. the 14th release marks the labels first split 12 inch - a result of 2 tracks falling in to their collective lap that were too good to wait for individual releases. despite the 2 very different acts involved, the symmetry in both musical background and production methodology makes for a record as coherent as any in the labels back catalogue, with both artists closely linked to both 3024 and martyns career.
GIVE ME A LIGHT (RODRIGUEZ JR. / JUAN SANCHEZ RMXS)
12 Inch 24.08.11
after the last release for ec and paul ritchs quartz label, michel de hey and m.i.r.k.o. are back on hey! joining the forces are none less than rodriguez jr and juan sanchez. after a great summer for michel with his hey! events in clubs, beaches and festivals, it was time to deliver that vibe to the label again. with this new ep that mission is easily accomplished. the original tracks are typical for michel, tough but funky and made for the dancefloor. all tracks have proven their value at numerous nights, with >give me a light< as an anthem for (the now closed) catwalk in rotterdam, whilst the original version of >waiting and waiting< has proven to be a great closer to his festival sets.
it has been in the pipeline for a while, but its finally here. the debut release from nijmegens underground house & techno collective eshu. they have been working and shaping their sound for over a year and gained quite the following on soundcloud for their relentless output. its deep, its slow, its really dirty and its to put your finger on.
two tracks will be released on wolfskuil ltd as a taster of whats to come. >naturally divine< is 14 minute electronic monstertrip with curious offbeat rhythms and detailed & mindblowing sounddesign. it builds tension without ever releasing into climax, making time fly by and 14 minutes seem way to short. >monrovia< on the flip is a nice contrast, but again this techno groover stands out through its unique choice of sounds, synths and layers.
acid jazzs rare mod series is a collection of vinyl eps, compilation albums and books that shines a light on the forgotten side of the british mod scene.
one such album is live 65 from kenny bernard & the wranglers, which is an extraordinary historical document that turned up at a car boot sale a couple of years back.
the next instalment from cassette library headquarters is a lights-out stomper designed for the darkest of dancefloors. on the flip, we introduce the maiden voyage from karenn aka blawan and pariah. two of the leading lights on r&s & hessle audio flex their combined muscle to turn in an uncompromising slice of solid house music. prepare to get lifted…
dikso from berlin drop another amazing ep ! after five super sound singles here is diksos very first artist ep and of course it will be daniel solars job to do the kick-off. his retrospect ep features the most zippy stuff dikso has released so far without being an ordinary house record. the percussion is minimalistically filigree, the atmosphere is fluffy and aniyas voice on >can you really know< comes direct from outer space... er... down under. dikso006 a1 - summer, sunshine, a picnic basket full of delicious food and wine and someone to share a walk in the park. sounds cheesy? yes, you are right... but remember that every park has its dark corners. dikso006 a2 - daniel teamed up with aniya ouu, the grand lady of >melbourne deepcast<, a blog from a few down under brothers and sisters in spirit. intercontinental and interblogospheric, interdisciplinary and... (fill in a word of your choice that begins with inter) dikso006 b1 - thee role model of deepslowmonudiscoeditchicagoacidwhateverhouse. after finishing two longplayers earlier this year he spent some time to refine daniels track. the original shines through but everything is a little bit deeper, darker, stronger. its still a walk in the park, but imagine the voices of owls and some undefinable dark shadows instead of wine, women & song. dikso006 b2 - we still have his brilliant ep for permanet vacation in our ears and synapses and now he is here with a stirring remix for prime times and big rooms. the boys from dikso borrowed pional, probably spains best kept secret, from john talabots hivern discs camp who delivers a real monster of a track. john, they have promised to give him back, later... someday... somehow
after being enclosed for several years with his mpcs and synthesizers, josé rico carries out the 5th downbeat 12 inch influenced by detroit and chicago. the record starts with september rain, a classic deep house track with warm percussion, deep synths and a jazzy piano. urtzi reworks it into a mesmerizing theme with spooky synths and a naïve bassline. then its on to stage, with raw drums, hammond and keyboards somewhere between tetrode and deep transportation. the record is closed by ciclico with a super-bass and a catchy melody. absolutely hypnotic. a diverse release for deep house lovers.
after the great success of solomuns love recycled ep, 2diy4 is back with the second installment of the series. the various artists ep showcases work by fresh talents as well as proven producers. a1 >deep in the three’ by thyladomid & adriatique is a groovy beast with a chunky bass-line, playful organic percussion and feists irresistible vocal. the track has already been receiving great response on the dancefloor. on the flip >young girl< a rework by peter kruder, member of the legendary kruder&dorfmeister, has a more mysterious vibe. the haunting, stretched vocal is counter-parted by a catchy groove that maintains the drive to the song. b2 >no giggity< by the young australian producer gary todd gets the groove on. giving a r&b ultra-classic a fresh polish he creates a catchy tool for the dancefloor.
this is the one. this is the summer tune of 2011. skream annie mac & nick grimshaw have all been building the hype hackmans epic title track >close<. probably one of the best pieces of, bass driven vocal dance music this year. cheekily sniping the alicia keys acapella from >no one< and employing the pitching down technique hackman compliments the vocal riff with layers of heavily clapped out garage breakbeats, and tops it off with a euphoric, futuristic grime bassline that rolls out like an atlantic breaker. its not just close, its perfect - and its another effortlessly curated release from greco-roman.
following 2009s sizzler >caribbean girl< man of the moment mario basanov returns to under the shade for more heat! utilizing the sticky sweet vocal talents of miss bee >just think about< is a summer scorcher thatll have you reaching for the speedos! remixes come courtesy of art of tones, social disco club & mirror people and marios own dub mix
what it happened again? but we still dont know! all we know is that once in a while every successful couple - and even passionate lovers - needs a break from each other. so this time, you get david woods on the green alone. no tiger around. just another man and his caddy. nevertheless, he has the >license to drill<, a >slazenger 1< in his pocket and >1:00:00< to kill. track after track after track by a true crack. funky peak time!
in an effort to help our dear friends in japan, esp institute presents part 1 in a ltd vinyl stash, all proceeds going to japan relief efforts. cos/mes brings a triumphant theatrical vocal stomper on side a with hey yah and ene label boss chida drops a dark dubby pumper on the flip with danca. sure to fly off the shelves, enjoy!
here we have the second release from smokescreen records, the new sister label for g13. pushing new artists is always propz, rowney and niteriders objective and the two producers in question are hoax from torquay and man of the moment dialogue from birmingham. both sides of this release are infectious jump up bangers, >utopia< is a synth led smasher and >rompa stompa< is a big dirty bassline stepper. two tunes for the jump up massive!
already played by karotte, joris voorn, f.e.x., gus gus, hot chip, estroe, secret cinema, p.toile, andre kronert and many more.
scopes next masterpiece on night drive music. the nerve centre is a quality deep grooving, body shaking house track. scope draws a lot of his inspiration from old school sounds originating in places like chicago, nyc and detroit. a huge slamming and nerve jacking remix comes from pol_on. this guys know how to rock and dip the groove in an never ending fire of drilling synths, loops and hunting rhythms.
nice price deal !!! pawas, well known for his amazing deep tech productions on night drive music, ostwind and mina, comes with two more forward going tech tunes like his release on brise004. ostwind spezi 007 brings us hypnotic grooves and chords spiced up with little breaks. these sounds make the dhamaal ep to a sure shot for every dj.
kowtons eps are the best possible fit for the devils workshop – they are not only deep, dark and warm, but also seductive and, at a pinch, sexy – just like the dark prince, or so i ve been told. perhaps i ve come under satans sway, but for me, both eps released so far on idle hands sound like someone whos been at it for much, much longer: this is a music knowledge which is anything but basic.
zeitlos, a german word meaning timeless is one way to describe chris wood & meats new ep, triple s. this is house of a different flavor, pulling influences from freestyle jazz and funk. we find ourselves late in the night. we enter triple s, a smoky cool atmosphere, relaxed and ready. light percussion leads us into the back, where a lone wandering bass line takes the stage. the simmer of hi hats and trample of toms usher in the kicks. chugging along, a single jazz flute, and sassy women punch through the fog. the strings rise and the bass sinks into the cellar. downplayed with style and elegance, triple s is the perfect track for half past midnight, opening the gates and pouring your body on to the dancefloor.
